|HARRAH, OKLA. Bobby Haynie, former Odessan, passed away
Friday, February 17, 2012, in Okla. City after a long battle with
numerous health problems.
Bobby was born Jan. 24, 1956 in Odessa, TX to Glenda (Taylor)
Haynie and the late Louis Long Haynie. He attended school in
Odessa, TX. He was joined in marriage to Karen Duncan on Oct. 5,
1974. He proudly served in the US Air Force. He was a fireman and
paramedic. He was head of the ski patrol when he was stationed in
Alaska. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Choctaw, Ok.
He loved his church and his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and
anything outdoors. He was very creative and could make anything.
He loved to cook.
His love was unconditional. He was a great role model and friend to
his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Bessie
Haynie and Beulah and Gibb Taylor and his father, Louis Haynie.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Haynie of Harrah, Ok.; mother,
Glenda Haynie of Odessa; children, Jason Haynie and wife Amanda
of Harrah, Ok., Lori Smith and husband Dustin of Harrah, Ok.; Judy
Tanksley and husband Steven of Okla. City, Ok. He has seven
grandchildren, Koby Turk, Daniel and Jase Smith, Mason, Conner
and Andrew Haynie and Madison Tanksley. He had one brother,
Allan Haynie and wife Rhonda of Odessa; sister, Susie Edwards and
husband Jack of Odessa. He has numerous nieces, nephews, family
There is only one person that Bobby loved more than his family and
friends and that is his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ.
Services were held at Bible Baptist Church in Choctaw, Ok. with the
Rev. David Wheatley officiating.
